Close-Up:
- I love being a musician. In fact, I can’t picture doing anything else. You become an artist because there is no other option for you; it’s a vocation, something you cannot escape. You can approach music in many different ways, and there are many ways to work as a musician. I, however, need to be able to perform on stage.
- I play the cello and I am a singer, but if I had to choose between them, I would choose singing. The cello is my favorite instrument; it’s sound is beautiful. But, there is nothing like the human voice and what you can feel and express through it… it connects with us deeply on many levels.
- I don’t believe in destiny, or at least I don’t for the time being. I do think life is more arbitrary and fortuitous than we would like. And although lots of things come down to having good luck, you have to go out and look and work for that luck so that when you see it, you can grab it.
- I’ve had many musical influences, and I try to keep the best from each person I’ve met and admired along the way. Nevertheless, the person who has most influenced me and helped me to become who I am today is my voice teacher, Gloria Fabuel. She has always inspired me to excel, to choose the right path and to see what is really important. She has taught me to be strong and persistent.
- I’m not sure why, but I would love to sing Popper’s Requiem or Vivaldi’s Double Concerto with Nostrum Mare Camerata. They are two works that fascinate me. I would also love to sing Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and Mozart’s Exultate, Jubilate with the group.
