Close-Up:

  • The person who has most influenced me as a musician has been my teacher Vicente Balaguer. I met him when I was 12 years old and that is when he began guiding me. If I am a violinist today it is because of him.
  • Life shows us each our own road, although I do not believe in predestination. I am convinced that you reap what you sow.
  • I wish I had been able to hear Jacqueline Du Pré play Elgar’s Cello Concerto. I am always moved by her recording of the piece.
  • I like being a musician, but if I had to choose another profession, it would be something that would let me travel a lot because that is what I love to do.
  • The first concert I played with Nostrum Mare Camerata was on a really nice, clear day in December in the Santa María Monastery in la Valldigna. I’ll never forget the energy we felt in the hall. Everyone, from the musicians to the audience, had a wonderful afternoon. The encore we played, Astor Piazzolla’s Invierno Porteño, was without doubt the icing on the cake that very special day.
